  1. Hi I wonder if I can backup files from “unavailable” iPhone 12 Pro with ios16.

I am literally waiting for a miracle

    1. The hope of getting data back is slim when you forgot the passcode. Try to recall your passcode. Or you can reset it and then recover the data from backups if you have any.

  2. Yes I have tried all of them but when I press the restore button I always get the same message that it needs to be updated to itunes 16.1 I have window 8.1 the updated version is for windows 10

    1. Hi, Glenn.
We got a similar message two months ago when we tested unlocking with iTunes on Windows 10. It also said that the iTunes version is too old to process. It really took lots of time to fix that. We guess that your iPhone is running on iOS 16. Apple has upgraded the iOS hardware and software security since iOS 16. When we tried to fix it on Mac, it also needs the latest macOS with the latest Finder version to unlock the iPhone. Compared to Windows, it’s a little easier to fix it on a Mac. The compatibility of software and the updating process should be smoother than on a Windows PC. If you can’t restore it on a Windows PC, you can try to restore it on a Mac.

      1. Hi Amanda, well I don’t have any access to a iPhone or a Mac iOS I’ve had this ipad 8 gen since November it’s new so should I take it to someone like the geek squad at best buy? And do you know where I could get it reset back to factory? Paid alot of money for a good reason I’m sure someone has the answer

        1. Yes, you can contact customer service since it’s new. You can also reset it in a local Apple store when you can’t repair it by yourself. Anyway, you’d better take it to a place that has a Mac computer to fix it or the latest Windows PC version with the latest iTunes installed.
